Former Tailor Edwin Maynard Buried Nov 30th
Edwin Maynard. 86, died Saturday, November 26 in Delorairre Memorial hospital. After being in ill health for some time in Coleman, Michigan, where he had lived since 1945 with his son, he was brought to his home here, where he stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Kirkwood, until a week before going to the hospltaL Mr. Maynard was born in Arnprior, Ontario: When he first came west he worked at the tailoring business at Portage la Prairie, later at Brandon, and Bolmsevain, where he married Stella Post, a dresamaker there. He moved to Deloraine and went into the tailoring bustnessfor himself. His wife died in 1939. Surviving are two sons, Dr. James E. Maynard, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Dr.. W. A. Maynard of Coleman, Mich.; one brother Jack Maynard, at Red Deer, Alta. E. W. Maynard Is a nephew. The funeral service was held in Deloraine United Church, Wednesday, November 30, Rev. D. A. MacLean of Winnipeg officiating, assisted by Rev. I. Harvey. Burial was made in Deloraine cemetery. *Honorary pallbearer was Arthur Atkinson. Active pallbearers were Chas.- Hasselfleld, Ross Lyons, S. Colquhoun, John Pepper, Wm. Vasey and T. G. Oddie.
